"That's a nice lookin' youngster," remarked Sward, as Billy was lost among the pines. "Notice the big eyes of him, Jack?" Billy took the Indian turnip from his chum and with his knife scraped off a portion of white, pungent pulp. "Now then, put this on the back of your tongue, an' leave it there," he directed. "Oh Willium," she cried, "my heart is breakin'. Oh to think how I misjedged him!".

"Pray step in, Mr Greyquill, and be seated!" "I am thankful to hear you speak of dancing. If ever your clothes should become rags and flutter to the measures of your feet, your beauty will still make them a finer garment, at least in my sight, than the apparel of royalty in state. "Go in presently and see if she's done, and ask if she'll have some fruit pie or cake, and report if the tray is still on the deck.".
